This is our "go to" breakfast spot. Southern breakfast at its finest! Their biscuits and gravy are better than grandmas and that's no exaggeration. You can tell the biscuits are homemade as their flavor stands out even smothered I. The delicious sausage gravy. Their homefries are always perfect. The waitstaff is so friendly it's like going back in time with their old school southern hospitality. You cannot beat their breakfast.....unless you come here for lunch!!!

As I was walking in this morning I noticed a good size party of people waiting outside (7 or 8). Maybe 2 mins after I walked in a party of 2 left a booth. I told the hostess that I was waiting on my husband (who was literally 3 mins away) and asked if I could sit in the booth that had just opened up to, she said yes. As I sit down, the waitress approaches & I order a sweet tea. Call my husband who is just turning into the parking lot. The hostess then comes over & says: "Your going to have to get up. The people outside Saw you come in after them & get seated and They want this booth. They said they wanted a table but now they want this booth. You have to leave." I was dumbfounded. No apology, no alternate seating offered, nothing. I got up quietly & left. Needless to say we will never eat here again. Food is good but the service is appalling.

Don't let the outside fool you, this is, hands down, one of the best breakfast and lunch places south of the airport. The Country Inn actually reminds me a lot of what Florida used to be like in the old days before big money showed up and started standing up big condos. Our waitress was a snappy, wise-cracking bleach blond who may be the happiest and nicest person I've met in South Florida in a long time. The food is old fashioned country breakfast that can raise your cholesterol just walking in the door. They feed you portions fit for a long lost relative and the ice tea comes in a glass so big my wife had to use two hands to hold it. The biscuits and sausage gravy are legendary and actually qualify as a food group on the new USDA nutrition pyramid. The crowd is mostly older and mainly regulars, the staff seemed to know everyone's name. It gets a little loud once in a while and a guy in the booth next to us had his cell phone ringer turned up loud enough to hear out in the parking lot. If you're down to your last $5, this is where you'd go to eat. Not only are the portions generous but the prices are a throwback to an earlier era. The last time I saw prices that low Nancy Reagan was consulting fortune tellers in the White House, big hair was all the rage and The Terminator was in theaters. So if you haven't had breakfast and you want a taste of old Florida, make time to visit the Country Inn on Military Trail. It's now our official breakfast place and the next time we go the wife and I are dressing up in our jeans and cuts and taking the motorcycle.

E-Gads! This place is awesome! Great comfort food, cheap, good quality and quantity, fun server... I could go on, but would run out of space :-) I had a Southern staple: Country Fried Steak with grits, eggs, and a biscuit. Super Yum! Small and cozy with an old south Florida feel. Enjoy!

The best breakfast diner in South Florida! My wife had the biscuits and gravy that were delicious and I had the pancakes and eggs that were very delicious. Don't let the outside of the place fool you. It's very old looking but wow the food is great! Service was great and very friendly. We are going to make this our go to breakfast place from here on out.

Very good place and quaint. You can get one of the best county breakfast here and the staff it's extremely friendly. It's a small place but that adds to its charm. It can be noisy, because of it's size, but I love it. The food is great too, love the grilled chops and ham steak.

Welcome to "Deliverance." In the middle of a long unpopulated northbound leg of Military Trail in Lake Worth, lies a 42+ year old diner set a little off the road with a modest sign that says "Really Good Food". They should also add Really Good Service to the sign as well. This place could easily be transported in your mind and make you feel like you are right in the middle of South Carolina. When you walk into the small place, I don't think they've done much to it in the 42 years, but the parking lot always seems to be packed. The waitresses are all long term which is a good sign, and very attentive in the small and cramped restaurant. Highly recommended by Yelpers and the staff worthy sausage gravy and pancakes, separately. I ordered the country fried steak breakfast which included two eggs, home fries, and a biscuit in addition to the steak. When the plate was delivered, it looked like the steak was excessively covered by the gravy. But on my first bite, I realized that they learned the correct proportion in 42 years. It was delicious, and the chicken fried steak was tender. Although my eggs were not cooked properly, they did fix them immediately. The biscuit was the best biscuit I have ever had in my life. It was light and airy and the soft butter just filled every void. The two guys I was with didn't feel the Southerness of the place, and ordered a burger and the basic sausage and egg dish. They both enjoyed it. They offer two sizes of burgers, and if you want a nice lunch, you need to order the bigger size. To round out my meal I had a fresh unsweetened tea which was delicious in itself, and offered a to go cup when we were done. Extra points for that. They have a specials board everyday which is filled with five or six items. About two weeks after my first visit, I went back as a solo. I ordered a special which contained eggs, sausage links, and pancakes. I asked them to upgrade the pancakes to blueberry which has a surcharge of one dollar extra per pancake. I just think that that's an excessive charge for blueberries, so I had them at it to just one of the two. The pancake batter was very nice, the soft butter that they served penetrated each pancake nicely and went well with the syrup on the table. They remembered me from my earlier visit and made sure that the eggs were cooked scrambled soft this time. The big question for Yelpers is "would you eat here again?" If I want a hearty southern style breakfast, this will be my go to place. Why? Really good food, really good service. The only things that I can think of that are negative, is that they should be open later on Sundays, and their bathrooms are not ADA compliant and way too small.

So on weekends you'll drive by this place and see all the cars and get a sense of small-town goodness from the look of the building; for the most part it's true. The interior has a wooden country feel and the waitresses were friendly like rural people. The staple breakfast food was good, but not out of this world. The prices are up there and I feel like I get better value from chains like Denny's, but if you like to support your local businesses then this would be a good option.

I love having breakfast here - many good dishes are available. The grits are rich and fluffy and come in a generous portion. The potatoes are cooked just right - crispy and spiced perfectly. The waitresses are absolutely fantastic. they make great grilled biscuits and the sausage gravy is fantastic. The atmosphere is as friendly as the food is good.

They keep the hot coffee comin' with a relaxed Southern-style hospitality. Everyone at the bar knows each other; the waitress commenting on guests' family members and offering their "usual's" the moment they sat down. It was a bit of a wait (read: 15 minutes) but worth the time. Nothing fancy here, folks, just a tasty breakfast with charming mismatched coffee mugs. The ladies room was a single stall with the lovely Audrey Hepburn adorning the rosy-pink walls. Cute! The reason for the 4-star rating, is, I subbed out some options in my omelet and the chef completely negated the items in general. It's all good, though, the waitress was very sweet about it. Overall, it was a relaxing experiencing and a fine way to start my morning.

Yelpers sent me to Country Inn. Brought my wife who I told she could wear no makeup and be assured none of the neighbors would be there. Having spent so much of my childhood in rural places of Mississippi, Tennessee, and places between New Orleans and Chicago I was eager to enjoy grits, eggs, biscuits etc. So nice to sit close to folks talking to each other and not texting. Thus describes the features of this unassuming local hangout where all are friendly. I had the eggs Benedict, we had an order of turkey sausage, fresh blueberries in pancakes and had to try the giant biscuit. Two coffees and grits our check was $23. Food as good as can be. Accommodating to more health conscious egg whites, veggie omelette and sugar-free syrup all available. Open at 6 am until 3 breakfast menu always available. Daily lunches. Will return to check on fried chicken.

Country Inn is where to go if you're hankerin for a good ol southern breakfast (ya'll.) A small, quaint gem on the border of Greenacres you can tell Country Inn is an old, converted house turned breakfast spot. With mismatched coffee cups and friendly staff, you're sure to feel right at home. My husband and I have been here a couple times and haven't once been disappointed. It'd be a crime to not try the biscuits and gravy because aside from my father in law's, they're a close second in favorites. The biscuits are buttery and fluffy and the gravy is just made to perfection. I have also had their french toast (yum) and my other favorite is simply an egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on that same tasty biscuit, My husband has had the country fried steak and said it was really good as well. It is inexpensive, the coffee is always fresh (sweet tea if you're not a coffee drinker) and the food is good (the sign doesn't lie.) Enjoy ya'll.

An excellent local breakfast & lunch "inn". I expect Sheriff Andy & Deputy Barney to come walking in. Had the special of 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon (crisp & tasty), grits and a very large, fresh made biscuit. Includes "endless" coffee or tea. $6.25. At that price, I could treat Aunt Bee & Opie for breakfast. If you are in this neighborhood, it's a MUST stop for great food and service.

The food here is absolutely wonderful. Sometimes there is a wait if you get here after 9am for breakfast. Never been for lunch. My husband gets "The Country Inn" special or the Ranchero and I change mine up. But never have I had bad food. The service, if its busy can be a little slow. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is they charge $2.50 for sliced tomato which is soggy as thy put it in the fridge. I'm a tomato lover and tomatoes should never go in the fridge. I ways get the toasted rye (which by the way they have the BEST bread I have ever tasted, its thick cut and just super scrumptious they sell it for $4 a loaf I think if you want to bring some home). The country inn special is biscuits and gravy, 3 eggs and home fries and his cost is $5.50 for all that food. I think the $2.50 for sliced tomatoes (which is the same price if you want a side of bacon, sausage or ham) is a bit of a stretch but other than that it would get 5 stars. Try the Ranchero for breakfast. It's a like a mini flavor explosion in your mouth.

Love this place! I come here once a week, you seat yourself and the food always comes out in less then 10min. It's always hot and delicious, reminds me of Tennessee :)

Me & my wife have been there a few times. The place is very very small..but the food is great..the place makes you feel like , you went back 30 yrs in time. Its just good down home cooking & Super freindly staff. We just wish it was bigger ,but thats a part of its charm. This a must try breakfest joint.

We found Country Inn through Yelp. Extremely cozy, friendly, clean, and most importantly, the food was delish. I had the pork chops with mashed potatoes, and fried okra. At first the pork chops looked somewhat dry - but it was moist, tasty, and when mixed with the gravy knocked my socks off. If you're looking for good old home cooking for all of the basics, breakfast and entrees I would suggest this place. It doesn't look like much out front, and tight inside but it's worth the stop. Not being from the area and after a stressful morning at JFK Memorial Hospital, this was the best part of the day.

Had a wonderful breakfast there. It was my first time eating there and I would defiantly go back. The coffee was wonderful and so was the service. I had a breakfast sandwhich with home fries. It was excellent!!

Great place for a tasty breakfast! Had a croissant sandwich with ham and cheese, I never wanted it to end. Delicious! Blueberry pancakes were perfection. My hubbie had eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. Everything was yummy. We will be back. Friendly service was a treat too.

If you're looking for a delicious southern style breakfast, this is definitely the place for you! I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. The staff makes you feel like you're eating in their home and are so friendly! The waitress was so sweet and was so helpful when we couldn't decide between items (so many delicious options!). I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon with grits and a biscuit that was twice the size of any biscuit I've ever seen (too much?? I couldn't decide! It all sounded so delicious!) And boy was it delicious! My boyfriend ordered blueberry and granola pancakes (amongst other things) that he raved about (sadly, I couldn't try them because I couldn't fit another ounce of food in). There's just something about what feels like a home cooked meal that makes it even better. I'm pretty sure this used to be someone's house that was emptied out and filled with booths. This adds to the feel and I loved it. This will definitely be my go-to breakfast place whenever I come to the area again!

Love that place. Small family business with great food. Always bussy. Try the thick texas toast with almonds or pancakes. Omelets good also. The only negative i can think is the really used furniture and tableware. they need i renewal.

I am writing this review while waiting a VERY long time for my omelette. This is a small little local place that resembles a place you would find in the country. We went because of the positive reviews on Yelp. We didn't have to wait because we sat at the 2 available seats at the counter. We spent our time there having condensation from the A/C dripping on us. The service (from the kitchen, not the waitresses) was very slow. It took a really long time for our griddled blueberry muffin to arrive and then another really long time for our omelettes. The food was good and the servers were nice. Although when our server approached our table she had a mouthful of food and proceeded to talk and chew while she took our order. Not sure I'll be returning.

Very good food in a little tiny space on a busy road! My dad came here last time he was in Florida and wanted to go back! Very nice waitresses, taking care of everyone together! I had a mushroom Swiss cheeseburger with fries and my dad had the special meatloaf and an order of the collard greens. Will like to go back for breakfast since it's my favorite meal for a diner!

Really delicious breakfast in an unassuming place! My hubs got the Chicken Fried Steak (as always) and it was incredible. Perfectly seasoned and tasted super fresh. The home fries were amazing. I got the California Omelette and it was loaded with fresh avocado, delicious mushrooms and lots of cheese. It was also cooked perfectly. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they have a ton of regulars. We went super early and it was still pretty busy. We are happy to have found this little gem so close to our home!

Tried for the first time a few weeks ago. Nice little mom and pop luncheonette-type of place, very popular with the locals. Decor is pretty tired-looking (kind of stuck in the 70s/80s) but the place is clean and the staff is friendly. We arrived about 1/2 hour before closing and they were still packed to the gills. Standard breakfast fare as well lunch/dinner menu. Portions are generous here and all of our breakfasts came out of the kitchen hot and exactly as ordered. Coffee was delicious. Everything was good but definitely try the biscuits and gravy here. They serve 1/2 portions with a number of breakfast items. Convenient spot along Military Trail, plenty off parking.

For the last two years I have driven driven by this place on the way to take my son to daycare. I would always laugh as the sign outside says "really good food". So one day I decided to stop in. The easiest way to sum up the restaurant is this, when I was a boy my dad was a salesman and in the summers I would go with him. Every time we stopped to eat his rule was you eat where all the truck drivers go. As these men are on the road and know the best places to eat. That being said it's not healthy food but very good food. I have been here many times and will continue to go back.

We go here often for breakfast. The food is excellent & they are always packed. The place is tiny & most locals go here. I have been very pleased with the service & the food. Serving only breakfast & lunch. Highly recommend! Try biscuits & gravy! Yum!

This place was great! If your looking for a good cheap breakfast with a small town feel. The biscuits & gravy and home fries were legit. The service was friendly, fast, and very accommodating. We will be back.

I came here for breakfast today. My boyfriend and I were looking for some place we have not been to and while driving around this popped up on Yelp. Admittedly, we questioned if we wanted to go in when we saw the place. It reminded me of one of those diners in movies where something sinister or weird is about to happen. There is also a sign outside that says 'really good food.' We decided to give it a shot as the place had decent reviews. So, this place has a pretty good sized menu. They serve breakfast until about 3pm I believe. Seeing as I am a vegan I did not see anything I would want for breakfast which is not a big deal as that usually happens. I decided to order 'Suzanne's salad' which is basically spring mix with fruit and balsamic vinaigrette (sans the blue cheese as i don't eat dairy.) My boyfriend ordered a breakfast with eggs and bacon and other stuff I don't eat. I have to say the quality of the food was good. My salad was very fresh. The waitress did let me know they were out of strawberries but offered extra of another fruit. I thought that was great she came over to let me know. My boyfriend said his food was good and he would come back. Based upon the food quality I would definitely come back to eat here again. The other patrons were a little interesting but I see that as entertaining....

It's small, definitely a hole in the wall - but the food is good, and that's what matters. Not over the top expensive, but I didn't think it was extremely cheap either. . Sodas are priced by the can so watch out! Staff was friendly, service was quick, I would visit again. Wish they had better hours!

  • Kristopher S.

Good country fare. Biscuits are so good , Ice tea is really good. I have never had a bad meal here and service is usually pretty good. Did have to wait for a few minutes a couple of times as the restaurant is very small but food is quite good.

  • jess w.

The only reason we gave one star is because of the gravy. The pancakes were dry, the eggs were so burnt I couldn't even stick a fork in them and the biscuits are only good when smothered in gravy. The service was very slow and in such a small dining room we shouldn't have waited 20 minutes to get our water re filled. I don't understand what all the fuss is about, and we still ended up spending $20 on breakfast. Unless you only plan on getting gravy I wouldn't go.

The Country Inn keeps things the way you would have it if travelling cross country. No frills but good food. We had breakfast, and the place was packed. Some of the items (hash browns and grits) were ordinary, but others (coffee, eggs, and biscuits) were exceptional. So its a hit or miss. Most dishes run about $8 a person. The service is great, so that makes up for the food. Enjoy!

Very hard to find this type of place in S FL. Southern hole in the wall environment at its finest. Great bkfast and great hard to find fresh veggies. If you like Cracker Barrel, you will probably like this place even more. Tea is freshly brewed and of course sweet tea available. Staff is very friendly. Note, they close at 3p weekdays, 2p weekends.

the food was good but they apparently don't like parties of 7 - the older lady with dark hair practically refused to pull tables together then flat out refused to even bring water. we had to wait until another server came back from break to take our order - then upon checking out, that same older woman checked out the person behind me (tho it was my turn)! when I objected to her skipping me she said I "hadn't learned to listen to her" - huh? There are lots of good breakfast spots nearby. I just called to speak to a manager - Chuck - and he said he was too busy to talk to me. I guess Customer Service isn't on the menu at Country Inn.

Yum, to put it simply. The best biscuit I have ever had (mind you, I am not southern born, but I do love biscuits and this one is the best I've had anywhere (down south included). I had corned beef hash which was good- not too salty like some hash can be, and I got the hash brown casserole as my side. It was great. My daughter got a kids breakfast that included sausage that was obviously home made so I had to sneak a taste. It was really good! Everyone in there was very friendly and you could tell that everyone was a regular since the waitresses called them all by name and knew what they wanted to eat. I love places like that. Bottom line is we will be back, and we will be bringing people with us!

Great little hole in the wall breakfast place. I swear there are tons of places like this back in MN and WI where I am from, it totally brings me back. Amazing biscuits and gravy, the best eggs, they always cook them perfectly! Try the bacon wrapped, cheese stuffed, deep fried hot dog! Oh yeah...heart attack but worth it! The waitresses are all friendly and always remember you. The bill will always be cheap, sometimes my husband and my bill will be $10! Great little place if you can get a table!

My husband and I have passed this little place several times on Saturday and it is always packed! So we finally stopped and I must say I do see what all the fuss is about! The food is great! Huge portions! Wonderfully reminiscent of my southern roots!! If you are looking for good southern comfort food this is the place to go! I've only every had breakfast because it is so good! but I am looking forward to trying the lunch menu one day! Side Note: place is tiny so if you are coming with a big crowd you may have to separate! ;) but well worth it!

I finally tried this place today only because i was up early and my favorite place (check the reviews) did not open for another hour. I arrived at 6:15 AM and there were two other customers sitting at a table who had either finished their meal or who only had drinks. I sat at the counter and the waitress asked me pretty quickly what i wanted to drink and brought my water after a fairly long wait. Upon return she asked if i needed a menu, I sad no and then she proceeded to doing various chores, filling up the ice, loading fridge etc. After 5 minutes of this, she finally got back to me and took my order though it didn't seem to come easy to her. About 3-4 minutes AFTER it should have arrived, the food came. The toast was cold, the eggs runny (ordered over medium) the bacon was fine and the pancakes looked a little over done. Long story short, the pancakes were over done on the outside and underdone on the inside. The Syrup was some thick molasses like glue which was in the bottom 20% of any syrup i've tasted. The egg yolks were so small, all the yolk was gone before my first piece of cold toast was finished 'dipping'. The hash browns were pasty as could be. I finish up (not literally) push my plate forward and wait for the check which came good and late. I already had the 2 buck tip on the counter. She put the check down and before it hit the counter i put a $20 bill right there which was totally ignored. She walked around (by now there were a few other customers) and took an order and ignored my outstretched hand with the check and the 20 as she passed by me on her way back. She arrived at the counter within 2 feet of my stool and my hand with check+20 and started eating a sandwich. I thought no doubt after the first bite she would take my money but she goes out and does something at one of the tables. BY this time i decide to stand next to the register thinking this surely will get her attention. Long story short again I am ignored til a guy yells out to her.-"Take care of that guy will you; he has been trying to pay for the last hour and a half." She told him she was busy but did come over at that point and i paid up. The bill was very reasonable by comparison to other places but not worth a single dollar to this Yelper. I think I am being generous by giving this place 2 stars today.

I don't get the glowing reviews. I tried it out for breakfast, and wasn't impressed. It was okay, but the food was the quality you get at a Denny's, nothing special. THe hashbrowns weren't crisy, they were almost rubbery. I just ate quickly, paid, and left. It was crowded and the service was slow. Way too expensive for what I got. The pics on yelp also aren't representative of what was on my plate - I got a LOT less food.

This place reminds me of home, back in Iowa there are tiny little diners like this in every small town and the food's all made from scratch because it's cheaper and better, and that's what they do here. I'm definitely a fan

Great breakfast & BEST pancakes!!! How do they do it? What's the secret ingredient? Moved out of state and just can't find a place that can match 'em nor can I seem to make them at home. Miss you Country Inn!

And I quote my guy "The best breakfast I've had in recent memory" and I agree. Let me start off with the service. They ladies up front were awesome and so attentive. At the end of the meal my guy made a comment about the water being flavorless which is a great thing and one of the ladies was so concerned that we thought something was tasteless. When my eggs came out they were not correct. Not because they messed up but I failed to tell them how I wanted it. I had 2 people trying to immediately get me the eggs I wanted. I got the steak and eggs and the steak wasn't the best but a little A1 sauce and I was fine. Pancakes were yummy, eggs was great. Awesome sausage etc. i could go on about this place. Will be returning soon.
